The police force will on Tuesday officially receive additional vehicles to help in its fight against crime.
The 97 vehicles will be handed over Tuesday afternoon.
National Security Minister Robert Montague, told RJR News that the vehicles, a mixture of new and used, will be distributed to police divisions across the island.
According to the minister, when this batch of vehicles is handed over, the police force would have received 390 extra service vehicles since the start of the year.
He reiterated that the 97 vehicles were not related to the procurement with O’Brien’s International Car Sales and Rentals.
There has been controversy since it was revealed that O’Brien’s failed to hand over 200 pre-owned cars for the police after almost a year.
Only 30 of the cars have since been handed over.
